Day 01 - Colombo Airport – Anuradhapura

  • On arrival you will be met and welcomed by our representative and transferred to Chilaw  
  • Visit to Muneshwaram & Manavari Temple
  • Then transfer to Anuradhapura

Munneswaram

Munneswaram temple is an important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been in existence at least since 1000 CE, although myths surrounding the temple associate it with the popular Indian epic Ramayana, and its legendary hero-king Rama. The temple is one of five ancient temples dedicated to Shiva in the region.The temple is located in Munneswaram, a village with mixed Sinhala and Tamil population situated in the Puttalam District of Sri Lanka.The presiding deity Siva is installed in the form of Lingam in the sanctum sanctorum. The Siva temple’s architectural details conform to what is written down in the Hindu scriptures known as agamas.. The Siva temple faces east and has three pathways around it. A sacred pond is situated in front of the Siva temple and a Bo Tree stands by the side of it. The main sanctum and the structure above the sanctum are one of the largest in Sri Lanka.

Manavari

Manavari is the first lingam installed and prayed by Lord Rama and till date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama.

Day 2 - Anuradhapura – Jaffna

Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura was the first capital of Sri Lanka established in the 4th century BC. It was the royal capital for 119 successive Singhalese Kings and lasted for about thousand five hundred years. Many historic monuments and buildings still remain in the acres of this sacred land.

The historic city of Anuradhapura is an essential stop on any tour of Sri Lanka. This city, located around 205 km North of Colombo, is one of eight World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Anuradhapura currently serves as the capital city of the North Central Province, and is considered the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Its vast network of ancient Buddhist temples, monasteries and places of worship which cover over 40 sq. km has made it a sacred site to Buddhists around the world.

Located on the banks of a river, Anuradhapura is now a picturesque ruined city, filled with mystery and steeped in a rich Buddhist culture. Tour groups and pilgrims alike visit this city, and this diverse and versatile city caters to a locals and visitors alike. The ancient city lies adjacent to the modern, and ruined buildings, ancient temples, cobbled streets, and even crumbling fort walls are spread out and interspersed with all signs of modern life in this bustling and thriving city.

Day 03 - Jaffna

  • After breakfast at the hotel & proceed to Jaffna City tour
  • Leisure at the hotel
  • Overnight stay at hotel- Jaffna

Jaffna is a city on the northern tip of Sri Lanka. Nallur Kandaswamy is a huge Hindu temple with golden arches and an ornate gopuram tower. By the coast, star-shaped Jaffna Fort was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century and later occupied by the Dutch and British. Jaffna Public Library is a symbol of the city’s post-war regeneration. Jaffna Archaeological Museum has Dutch cannons and pre-colonial artifacts.

Day 04 - Jaffna - Dambulla

  • After breakfast at the hotel & proceed to Dambulla ,
  • Proceed to Dambulla cave temple & Sigiriya Rock
  • Check-in to the hotel & Leisure at the hotel
  • Overnight stay at hotel- Dambulla

Day 05 - Dambulla –Colombo

  • After breakfast at the hotel & proceed to Colombo
  • Proceed to colombo City tour & Shopping
  • Check-in to the hotel & Leisure at the hotel
  • Overnight stay at hotel- Colombo

City Tour

While on your city tour in Colombo you may visit famous places including Galle Face Green, the Viharamahadevi Park, National Museum, Twin World Trade Center towers, Old Parliament Building, Fort district, Independence Hall at Independence Square, and prominent Buddhist, Hindu, Islam and Christian places of worship. (Entrance fees to sites not included). For shopping, you may visit Odel, House of Fashion, Beverly Street, Majestic City, Noritake, etc  

Day 06 - Colombo - Colombo Airport for Departure

  • After breakfast at the hotel & proceed to Airport for departure

  • All rates quoted are in US Dollars (US$) and are non-commissionable.  The rates in this document are subject to change/revision based on any increase / decrease in the hotels’/suppliers’ rates or the taxes imposed by the government.

  • Kindly note that check in time would be 1400 hrs and check out @ 1200 hrs and same is applicable for all hotels until or otherwise early check in/check out is communicated prior to arrival and agreed upon.
